As I am hoping to become an art therapist following graduate level education, alot of my work focuses on the impact of trauma of rape as Ihave experienced and still continue to experience throughout my life. I work mainly in acrylic but have found the love of gouache as a new medium. In my works, there are a lot of meaningful symbols that embrace the idea of a pervasive memory that influences a persons current state of thoughts and emotions to the experiences around them. In this project, I painted in a loose dripping style to depict the idea of the woods and figures as a passing memory; their pushing and pulling of space as a parallel to the pushing and pulling of memories as we humans try to reconstruct or remember them.
