Cynthia Norwood:

I'm a senior about to graduate with a B.A. in Fine Arts and a psychology minor. As I am hoping to become an art therapist following graduate level education, alot of my work focuses on the impact of trauma of rape as I
have experienced and still continue to experience throughout my life. I work mainly in acrylic but have found the love of gouache as a new medium. In my works, there are a lot of meaningful symbols that embrace the idea of a pervasive memory that influences a persons current state of thoughts and emotions to the experiences around them. In this project, I painted in a loose dripping style to depict the idea of the woods and figures as a passing memory; their pushing and pulling of space as a parallel to the pushing and pulling of memories as we humans try to reconstruct or remember them.
